Cover for The Dead-Tossed Waves!
Hey Y'all! First of all, a huge thanks to everyone who friended me on Facebook and Twitter! And an even bigger thanks for all of the love you showed my new cover yesterday :)
Second, I just saw that The Forest of Hands and Teeth was reviewed by the Cleveland Plain Dealer who says "The Forest of Hands and Teeth will give you a sleepless night - either from staying up to finish the book or lying awake listening for a scratch at the door." Sweet!
Third, don't forget that I'm still in the middle of a blog tour! I've listed all my stops in the sidebar of my blog here if you want to read all the different interviews!
Fourth, thanks for all your comments to my last post about Twitter! I can't wait to try some of the apps y'all suggested.
And finally, I am so super excited to share with y'all the cover to my second book! I totally love it! What do y'all think (you can click on it to make it larger)?
The Dead-Tossed Waves will be coming out Spring 2010.

I think I will look lovely in front of the ocean like that.
'a companion to'?
Holy Crap! That's gorgeous
I like this cover even MORE than Forest. It is gorgeous!
Ooh, I really, really like it, Carrie! Awesome.
Though, I'd also like to say that the world is an unjust and cruel place. The Maze Runner comes out in six months and I still don't have a cover!!!
RH must like you more. :-)
Wait, does Krista read this? Kidding, Krista, kidding!
love it! wow that was fast right?
I love the new cover! :D
That's a gorgeous cover right there, Carrie.
Beautiful :)
Gorgeous cover...looking forward to the book!
So excited for this book! Quick question... why is Mary a blonde on this cover when she has dark hair on Forest?
That cover looks awesome. I am wondering, is The Dead-Tossed Waves going to continue with Mary? I hope it does. I've grown to like her.
That is so umbelievably gorgeous. Whoa, it's amazing. Gah!
I just posted this cover on my blog as the: Cover of the Week! And it totally deserves it!
just bought FHT and i'm already halfway through it:) only question is, if mary is on the cover of FHT then who's on DTW... my guess is Cass so does that mean ur changing perspectives? luv it either way, l8r :)
Normally I'm not fond of covers focusing only on people; I've never been sure why, but they never quite sparked my interest in the way others have.
That being said, I love this cover. What it has that I don't see in many others, I have no clue. But I love it all the same.
And the book can't come fast enough.
awww man i really like Mary
That sucks if its in another prespective
I hate when they do that
but wouldnt it be mary if its at the ocean?
or idk
and that was sooooooo sad when Travis died omg and JED OMG!!!!!
write another book with MARY!!!
LOVE the sequel cover! congratulations, carrie!!!!
I agree that if FHT has a brunette on the cover and DTW has a blone then either it's a BIG oops that a bunch of people missed or it is going to be from a completely new perspective. I'm not sure how I feel about it, I wish the book was out sooner so I would know. haha
I was confused at first too, but then I realized that the girl on the cover has a braid and Cass was also said to have a braid. So either Carrie/the publishers are giving visuals to other characters, or Dead-Tossed Waves will be from Cass's point of view.
I really like the cover, though not as much as the cover for Forest. While it doesn't seem as ominous or cold to me, it feels a lot more icy. It also looks a bit more "floating figure against a background" to me. Either way, it is pretty; it'll work well with Carrie's blending of beauty and gore.
i completely love this and cannot WAIT for it to come out!
it must be cass on the cover ;)
Love the cover!!!
Is that Cass though?
Would really love to know what happens to her and Mary too I was ready to keep turning pages and was sooo disappointed that I'd finished it, I'm still sadly hoping that Jed is alive. Lol nearly cried when Travis died because he'd asked her if she would tell him if she was bitten, she said not until near the end which is what he did. He sacrificed himself because he was already dying, how sad :-( << more pronounced than this sad face though. The next book can't come fast enough, I only just finished reading it (lol I bought it yesterday) and wanted to find out when the next was coming out. Feel like I've been left hanging though because I have no idea what will happen next, it's so refreshing though that the book doesn't end with everyone perfect and a happy ending so I can't possibly predict the outcome. Hoorah at last! Just wanted to say nice cover, rant over :-) << more pronounced than this face too, more like this: >>> :-D
Me again! I just did a bit of looking and it seems the girl on the cover is called Gabry and I think she may be Mary's daughter. But I want to know what happens to Mary, what she does next, does she rescue her friends ,is she finally happy? So it seems that the dead-tossed waves may have jumped years of Mary's life. If she is her daughter then I would guess that the father is probably the man she met at the beach, it's just a hunch. But I would've thought Mary wouldn't want children now that Travis, the man she loved and wanted children with is dead. I want Jed to come back though even if he is unconsecrated, lol I refuse to accept his death, just like I did Dumbledore's. Though hopefully I won't be disappointed this time-(Damn you JK Rowling you murdered Dumbledore!!!), -though I'm not optimistic. I refused Gandalf's death too but I was right that time!! Thing is Jed isn't a magic wizard capable of magic and such forth. Too bad, looks like Mary lost everything to gain the ocean.
I loved this book, but not the ending (by that I mean last page because I wanted to read more) so perhaps saying I didn't like the end itself would be more accurate, I have no patience, I want to know what happens to the rest of them!!!!
can't wait until the second. And hopefully others after that ;) (hint, hint)
travis <3 so sad
NOOOOOO, TRAVIS!!!
:OMG
Like some person said about Jed I want him to come back though it's impossible. What with having no head and everything. But still the fact remains, NOOOOOOOO, TRAVIS!!! And the others like Jed and Beth. But mostly Travis. You may have grasped that already.
LOL i want 2 just "dive" right into the book! amazing! i cant waith for it!
I think I would enjoy a book from Cass's perspective since I really wasn't very sympathetic of her. She was no Mary, if you know what I mean, but I am sure if I got to see life through her eyes, she would have an awesome story to tell.
