Here's the cover (which I LOVE):
And here's what it's about:
Tabitha can’t shake the feeling that something exists beyond the fences of her village. And when she sneaks out, past the gates and down the path into the Forest of Hands and Teeth, she meets a boy who teaches her heart things she never knew. But love in a world surrounded by so much death doesn’t come without its sacrifices, and Tabitha gradually realizes just how much she’ll have to give up to live among the Unconsecrated. And here's where you can buy it for only $1.99!!: Amazon | Barnes & Noble
From New York Times bestselling author Carrie Ryan comes an original story of love after the Return.
I really loved writing Sister Tabitha's story. I realized as I revised The Forest of Hands and Teeth that we only got to see Tabitha from Mary's point of view and in Mary's eyes, Tabitha was nothing but overbearing and incapable of understanding her. To me, though, Tabitha was much more complicated. She had a reason for withholding information from the villagers and every action she took came out of love and a desire to protect the village. I wanted to understand how she got to be that way, what led her to take on the mantle of ruling this village so rigidly and why she believes so much in choice while not allowing those around her to truly make their own decisions.
So I wrote her story as a teen. As it turns out, Sister Tabitha was once a very very passionate young woman who had her own choices to make. When she begs Mary to stop dreaming about what lies beyond the fences, she has her reasons.
Yay!!

I cant wait to read this!! I have wondered about SIster Tabitha and I am so glad you've written some of her story
Also available at kobobooks.com...yay! I just bought it!
I originally thought the sequel to the forest of hands and teeth was going to be about Sister Tabitha, LOL. My bad!
Picked up this story, cannot wait to read it. The cover is LOVELY...
Just read 'flotsam and jetsam' last night and loved it!!!
Yay!!!!!!
It looks GREAT!
Carrie I have a question, is it the same story from the Kiss Me Deadly anthology? Or have you extended it?
Now this is some very excellent news - thanks Carrie!
Purchasing immediately! Most excellent!
Read it and LOVED it! So great to have some more background on The Forest and it's characters. After reading, I have a soft spot in my heart for Sister Tabitha (whereas I despised her previously)!
I read Hare Moon in the collection... it was such a bittersweet story. The cover is lovely.
Hi, Carrie! How different is this story from the one in the anthology? This was the story that tricked me into reading zombie stories - and I HATE them! :-)
Bought it! Can't wait to read it!
So is this the exciting reason The Dark and Hollow place trailer was only 15 seconds or do we have another surprise coming?
Do we have to have a nook or kindle to get Hare Moon or can we download t it straight to our computers?
This is very cool!
I just finished The Dead Tossed Waves, and although it had nothing to do with Sister Tabitha, it gave a larger perspective for the entire world the characters live in. I felt like I could sympathize more with the Sisterhood in the first book after see the effects of the Unconsecrated beyond the village.
I LOVED IT! I gobbled up your Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy and LOVED Hare Moon; I was so happy to get a little insight into Sister Tabitha! Carrie...you are awesome. I downloaded it the day it became available and it was AWESOME! I love these books and hope there is more to come in the Forest of Hands and Teeth world! Thanx again Carrie for an amazing read!
OH!! I forgot to mention I also read Flotsam and Jetsam the other day...L.O.V.E.D.!!
I've wondered about Sister Tabitha...knew there had to be more to her meanness. Looking forward to it!
