It's only now as a writer with my first book published that I know I am where I belong. It took me 50 years to discover this!!
I started my blog for the same reason and it was the best idea I ever got! I can look back over the last year and see the path clearly.
I'll come and visit! It's def. difficult to make writing a career path because it *is* a second job and there aren't guarantees (frex, in law I pretty much know that if I work hard for the next 7 years, I'll make partner; with writing who knows if I'll even sell a third book?).

I was thinking about this last night -- JP and I don't have kids or any other obligations. For us, it's a good time to have two jobs -- all we really have to sacrifice is TV and a little extra time every day. I think it gets harder and harder the more "outside" obligations you have on your life (and it def. helps that writing is something we both love).Carrie Ryanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13751498516235657725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21790035.post-32259862839380145872007-10-23T08:52:00.000-04:002007-10-23T08:52:00.000-04:00Wow, what a tough(good) snippet to read. Somewhere along the line I got it into my head to try and make it a career path. For me, I think making that transition in career path is difficult. It IS a second job.

Anyway, it must feel good reading that snippet now. :)

I'm reluctant to talk about my progress because when it is going bad, talking about it seems to make it worse to me. Though I generally track word count totals privately.Patrick Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01121337008453549441noreply@blogger.com
